Â« Kidney transplantation with living donor in the care pathway in Nephrology Â»

Kidney transplantation is the standard treatment for end-stage renal failure. The availability of kidney transplants limits access to this treatment. Transplantation from a living donor is an alternative that significantly reduces the waiting time for dialysis. Currently transplants from living donors represent less than 15% of all kidney transplants in France. To date, 2 issues limit the use of living kidney donation:

1- The eligibility criteria for living kidney donation are still widely debated

2- The impact of this transplantation strategy on the care pathway in nephrology is unknown
