Biosketch

Antoine Duclos, MD-PhD, is a Professor of Public Health. His training background is in the field of medicine and epidemiology, with methodological skills in data science and health services research. He holds positions as Director of the Research on Healthcare Performance lab (RESHAPE, INSERM U1290) at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and Head of the Health Data Departement at Lyon University Hospital.

Pr Duclos’ main research goals involve improving the care and the organization of public hospitals through the study of surgical performance. His primary research interest focuses on measuring, interpreting and reducing variation in surgical outcomes, including the development of valid indicators as well as innovative graphic tools to guide surgical teams towards a better understanding of their performance. Another research focus involves exploring the performance curve of surgeons during their career with the expectation to identify human and organizational factors that improve surgical quality, safety and efficiency (European Research Council Starting Grant).
