Thesis title : New workspaces: investigating the consequences for perceived health and the psychosocial processes involved.
Year of registration : 2022
Supervisor : Emilie Vayre
In 2021, 8 out of 10 employees wish to continue remote work implemented during the covid crisis. Meanwhile, remote workers are increasingly absent from their employer's site, as the latter seeks to reconfigure workspaces into flex offices to reduce real estate costs. However, while the consequences of remote work are starting to become known, few studies focus on exploring the respective and cumulative effects of remote work at home, remote work in dedicated third places, and flex offices. The objective of this thesis is to evaluate to what extent and in what ways workspaces affect perceived health at work. What are the psychosocial processes at work in these different workspaces? And what roles do these psychosocial processes play in preserving or altering perceived health at work?
Juliette Vassallo completed a Master's degree in Social Psychology of Work and Organizations at Université Lumière Lyon 2 in 2022, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the same university, under the supervision of Émilie Vayre, as part of a Contrat Doctoral Unique (CDU). Her research focuses on new workspaces and their hybridization, exploring their implications for health and performance at work. In this context, she collaborates at national level with the Observatoire du Télétravail and the DARES (Direction de l'Animation de la Recherche, des Études et des Statistiques).
