Since January 2026, Marie Martin has been a Research Engineer at RESHAPE Unité Inserm 1290, Université Lumière Lyon 2. In 2022, she completed a Master’s degree in Sociology at the University of Strasbourg, specializing in social inequalities and discrimination. Her research concentrates on health inequalities seen from an intersectional perspective. Indeed, her previous work focused on age relations in obstetric and gynecological care (Master’s Thesis) and on therapeutic mobilities of children and their families in the Indian Ocean (Research Assistant and Research Engineer positions at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement). Marie specializes in qualitative research methods, with an interest in feminist epistemologies and research ethics. She currently works on community-based participatory research projects aiming to improve cancer screening participation in underprivileged neighbourhoods on one hand, and on the other, to identify means to increase participation in research by people living in underprivileged neighbourhoods.
