This doctoral research investigates the impact of sexual orientation-based discrimination in Tunisia, focusing on men who have sex with men (MSM). It examines how socio-cultural factors influence their mental and sexual health, and seeks to identify both vulnerability mechanisms and resilience strategies

Biosketch

Hayder is an emergency room nurse with a master’s degree in health sciences research. He is currently a PhD candidate (in an international partnership) in Health Psychology at Université Lumière Lyon 2 (UMR 1296 RESHAPE – Inserm) and in Public Health at the University of Sousse (LR12ES04, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine of Sousse, Tunisia). His research mainly focuses on minority stress and its impact on the mental and sexual health of marginalized populations, particularly sexual minorities. He is also interested in the social determinants of health and access to care for vulnerable groups. He has contributed to several research projects, including studies on the quality of life of female sex workers in Tunisia and the implementation of the RAPID PFA model of psychological first aid in nursing education.
